2600 who was arrested along with hundreds of others while he was covering the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. This is
his account of that experience. I think this is a very powerful piece showing that the activities of various security forces in the city at the time were more of a political than law-enforcement variety.
I have commented on this topic before, and Mr Goldstein's account seems to only reinforce my earlier impression of what this was about,- a well-planned operation whose primary aim was discouraging and intimidating those wishing to express a dissenting opinion in a public venue.
