The Collapse of Detroit: Ground Zero for the Globalist019s Deindustrialization Agenda

Sunday, 1 November 2009 7:17 P GMT-05
Today, Detroit looks like a war zone. The slowly rotting corpse of what had been America’s backbone, the leading city in the industrial “Rust Belt.” Today, those cities are on the decline and scheduled to be bulldozed, shrunk and returned to nature. Detroit, Flint, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Memphis. These centers of production and high-wage working class jobs are now collapsing in every sense. Their city governments are broke. Foreclosures range around 1 in 5 in the worst areas. Neighbors are in decline. The last jobs are about to go.

At 22, Omar Khadr Has Spent a Third of His Life in Guantanamo

Saturday, 20 September 2008 4:26 P GMT-05
On Friday, Omar Khadr, the sole Canadian citizen in Guantanamo, marked his 22nd birthday in isolation. Seized in Afghanistan when he was just 15 years old, Omar has now spent nearly a third of his life in U.S. custody, in conditions that ought to be shameful to the U.S. administration responsible for holding him and to the Canadian government that has abdicated its responsibilities toward him.

March on Ottawa - 9/11/2008

Sunday, 7 September 2008 4:18 P GMT-05
They're going across the country in hopes of tracking down what they say is the real story behind the 9/11 attacks. About 10 members of the so-called Vancouver 9/11 Truth Society rolled into Winnipeg yesterday on a small bus while en route from the West Coast to Ottawa to try to push Canadian authorities to launch a new, independent probe of the World Trade Center catastrophe.

Decapitated bus passenger, man was 'totally calm' during attack

Friday, 1 August 2008 1:33 A GMT-05
A young man travelling on a Greyhound bus was stabbed to death and beheaded by a stranger in a horrifying act of apparently random violence. The incident occurred on a bus travelling from Edmonton to Winnipeg just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

U.S. deserter could qualify as refugee: court

Sunday, 6 July 2008 4:15 P GMT-05
In a decision that may have an impact on dozens of refugee claimants in Canada, Federal Court Justice Robert Barnes said Canada's refugee board erred by rejecting the asylum bid of Joshua Key. He ordered that a new panel reconsider the application. Key was sent to Iraq in 2003 as a combat engineer for eight months where he said he was responsible for nighttime raids on private Iraqi homes, which included searching for weapons. He alleged that during his time in Iraq he witnessed several cases of abuse, humiliation, and looting by the U.S. army. When Key was back in the U.S on a two-week leave, he said he was suffering from debilitating nightmares and that he couldn't return. A military lawyer told him that he could either return to Iraq or face prison. Instead, Key took his family to Canada and applied for refugee status.

Press Release: PETITION FOR CANADIAN 9/11 INVESTIGATION TO BE READ INTO PARLIAMENT TUESDAY JUNE 10th, 2008

Saturday, 7 June 2008 3:19 P GMT-05
The 9/11 attacks not only killed 24 Canadians, but it is also our sole reason for participating in – and now enduring – the War on Terror. Upon the outset of the War in Afghanistan, former US Secretary of State Colin Powell (who will be in Vancouver June 12th) promised Canada a whitepaper linking the September 11th attacks with Osama bin Laden in exchange for our premature participation in the conflict in Afghanistan. This whitepaper never came, yet our troops are still fighting abroad. To date, the United States of America has yet to convict a single person in a court of law for the crimes of September 11th. Both official US reports, The 9/11 Commission Report and the NIST Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster created more questions than answers, and cannot be credited as final accounts. Thus, in absence of our whitepaper or any other credible report, Canada must now take it upon itself to investigate the crimes of September 11th, not only for the sake of those in Canada who lost their loved ones, but also to justify our war efforts in Afghanistan, or to bring a cause for an immediate withdrawal. Ms. Davies, who is the deputy leader of the Federal NDP, has served as an MP in East Vancouver since 1997, easily winning in 4 consecutive elections. We would like to call on all Canadians to please send her an email thanking her for doing what she can to bring the topic of 9/11 into the Canadian Parliament: Davies.L@parl.gc.ca. Although this petition has already been submitted, we still wish to collect as many signatures as we can to show our true numbers. These yet to be collected signatures will then be added to our current tally, and a total will be read outside of Parliament on September 11th 2008 in support of bringing our demands to fruition. This rally on Parliament Hill, will succeed a March on Ottawa, that will start in Montreal QC, 5 day’s earlier This March on Ottawa will be the first nationally organized 9/11 Truth event here in Canada and we are anticipating on having thousands of marchers and participants rally with us in Ottawa: www.marchonottawa2008.org If you have yet to sign this petition, please do, and mail a copy in to our mailing address: March on Ottawa Organizing Committee 32-2902 Main St. Vancouver BC V5T 3G3.

Friday, 16 May 2008 6:04 A GMT-05
On the 11th of every month, Victoria 911 Truth Group performs their Canadian duty, "Standing on Guard" and leading the way for change in Victoria; dropping their banners and gathering attention to the worst terrorist attacks in the history of human kind; encouraging everyone to investigate the events of 9/11.

An Open Letter To An RCMP Terrorist Mole

Sunday, 20 April 2008 6:26 P GMT-05
As for the Toronto 18 case that you worked on, the RCMP and CSIS watched these guys for TWO YEARS and without a single chargeable offence occurring - until you two 'moles,' informants, whatever - came along. All of a sudden it's a fast track to fertilizer.

The Toronto 18 Become The Toronto 11

Thursday, 17 April 2008 7:37 P GMT-05
What they didn't tell us at first was that RCMP surveillance of some of the suspects had begun three years earlier - with absolutely no leads developing: these kids were normal Canadian youth - some of them politically active and outspoken against out invasion of Afghanistan, but the RCMP could find no illegal activity. What turned things around for the RCMP was the introduction of two Muslim moles: one, Mubin Shaikh, a cocaine-addicted, lifelong Air Cadet with a troubled past - he was also a CSIS agent (Canada's CIA); the other a man was also a well-paid (he asked for $40 million dollars) CSIS agent with a degree in horticulture who was on the skids. Each was paid millions of dollars by CSIS and RCMP for their services. These two then ingratiated themselves to the suspects and immediately started the process of entrapment. Shaikh has since stated publicly that many of the suspects are innocent. He has also admitted to snorting all the money he was paid up his nose and has been recently charged with assaulting two 12-year old girls!!! It turns out that the fertilizer was ordered and paid for by the RCMP!In fact, it was the horticulturist mole who was the only one able to place the order, as a regular citizen ordering hundreds of pounds of fertilizer at once will be immediately reported to the RCMP! And it was delivered to a location that the RCMP rented and paid for- one block away from their regional headquarters! Now, you tell me what sophisticated terror network is going to devise a plot where they are based one block away from the national police force's HQ?!?

"Unfair Dealing" Documentary by David Weingarten

American Refugees are flooding into Canada: Tens of thousands of Americans are now economic refugees

Saturday, 22 March 2008 7:11 P GMT-05
All of this is occurring while: the US government bails out Wall Street; credit card companies raise record amounts of money by issuing shares; the economic crisis draws comparison to the 1929 stock market crash; investigation of predatory banks gets killed; The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. prepares for bank failures; and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta releases a crisis peparedness video. And some thought that Stocking the Root Cellar was only for conspiracy theorists.

Video Shows Cop Tasering Already Restrained Disabled Man

Friday, 14 March 2008 11:00 A GMT-05
Already handcuffed and subsequently shoved face down to the ground, an officer then fires a taser into Dempsey's back at point blank range. "I wasn't resisting arrest, I calmly walked, he grabbed me, and said this will teach you not to [profanity] with us, that's what he said," Dempsey later commented. Watch the video:

Barrie Zwicker on TVO - February 13th, 2008

Saturday, 16 February 2008 7:44 P GMT-05
The "agenda" seems to have been to have Zwicker on the show, showcase him as a paranoid "Conspiracy Theorist" and then have a panel follow up and explain why he was a paranoiac. However, Zwicker was so damn good in the opening segment with Paikin, that the episode was re-named, "Barrie Zwicker - Conspiracy Anyone?", and split into two distinct segments, the first with Zwicker, called "The Interview - Fact or fiction? Writer Barrie Zwicker on the real story behind 9/11", and the second segment a rather typical establishment rationalization of "Conspiracy Theories" called "The Debate: Conspiracy Anyone? - Why do some people see things that most don't? The rising popularity and seductive logic of conspiratorial thinking", which you can view as a streaming episode or podcast D/L at the show's website:The "agenda" seems to have been to have Zwicker on the show, showcase him as a paranoid "Conspiracy Theorist" and then have a panel follow up and explain why he was a paranoiac. Harassed At Border For 9/11 Truth Flyer

Thursday, 14 February 2008 9:18 A GMT-05
JC911Truth founder, director and organizer, Glenn Zarmanov was recently harassed on the American-Canadian border for his possession of fliers that prompt the reader to demand a new investigation and DVDs with similar content. While traveling on a visit to Montreal, Quebec, Zarmanov encountered hostility when a border-patrol agent remarked that the fliers and discs could be considered "objectionable material" and might be confiscated. Zarmanov was allowed into the country with his property, but was warned not to bring such material on subsequent visits. Zarmanov was questioned rigorously on his intentions for smuggling paper and plastic into Canada. As if a thorough search of the vehicle in which the activist was traveling were not enough, the border-guard in question added insult to injury by stating: "That sh*t [9/11 Truth] don't fly in Canada" and "You are not welcome here. Americans are second-rate travelers."

Big media stands down

Saturday, 5 January 2008 4:15 A GMT-05
The star journalists of 2007 didn't work for The New York Times or The Washington Post or The Globe and Mail. They didn't work for 60 Minutes or "W-5" or "The Fifth Estate." The real star journalists of 2007 were the dogged, artless, perseverant investigators and writers, mostly amateur, who continued to pursue the story of what really happened on 9/11, because the above-named big guys and their kind continued to ignore it.

Tell the dying to go away

Thursday, 27 December 2007 2:28 A GMT-05
I can barely imagine a hospital telling someone that is dying to go away because they refuse to treat them. That doesn't happen in Canada or any other country with universal healthcare. You can't deny someone life-saving surgery, it's unconscionable.

Maher Arar: A Victim Of The Immoral Practice Of Rendition

Saturday, 20 October 2007 2:26 P GMT-05
Republicans joined with Democrats yesterday to offer Maher Arar something he has never received from the Bush administration – an apology for the U.S. role in wrongly detaining him, then sending him to Syria where he was tortured. More than five years after his nightmare began, Arar received the apologies from congressmen as far apart on the ideological spectrum as possible in Washington, even if they differed widely on the value and legality of the Bush administration's practice of "extraordinary rendition" of terror suspects.

Thousands of Canadian face IRS scrutiny at border

Tuesday, 16 October 2007 1:53 A GMT-05
"A border crossing guard may have information readily available in his or her booth computer concerning a traveller's unpaid U.S. tax liabilities and may bar the traveller's entry into the United States," she writes in the latest edition of the Canadian Tax Foundation's publication Tax Highlights. In addition, anecdotal evidence suggests that Homeland Security agents are becoming more sophisticated about U.S. tax laws and may ask travellers with a green card or non-resident U.S. citizens whether they have been filing U.S. tax returns, she says. "Even if a non-U.S. passport is used at the U.S. point of entry, most countries' passports list the place of birth, allowing Homeland Security to easily identify a traveller who is a U.S. citizen by reason of his or her birth in the United States," she says.

Government Moles in 'Terror' Bomb Plot Provided Bomb, Set up Training Camp

Wednesday, 26 September 2007 12:09 A GMT-05
Everything about the case of the so-called Toronto 18 is shrouded in mystery. Evidence raised in court, either at bail hearings or the preliminary hearing, is covered by a publication ban. But this hasn't prevented the public from knowing allegations against 14 adults and four juveniles that are so bizarre as to be almost unbelievable. The Crown claims that at one point the alleged Islamic terrorists were plotting to cut off Prime Minister Stephen Harper's head – but changed their minds because they weren't sure where Parliament Hill was. It also claims some of the 18 attended a Keystone Kops-style military training camp at Washago north of Toronto where, it seems, they spent most of their time complaining about the cold.

The attached picture is a bigger, better, & higher-resolution one than the one in your original story(s); (attached below) It confirms to any 'doubting Thomas' that ALL 3 MEN IN THE VIDEO WERE 'GOVERNMENT-CONTROLLED AGENTS-PROVOCATEURS'!!

Thunder Bay, Ontario's only daily newspaper covers 9/11 truth & upcoming Barry Zwicker speech at Lakehead University

Tuesday, 28 August 2007 8:27 A GMT-05
Is there something more to 9/11 than the official version? Did the Bush administration have anything to do with the attacks on the World Trade Center? That‘s one of the theories Canadian author and left wing peace and environmental activist Barrie Zwicker will discuss during a lecture at Lakehead University on Sept. 7.

Police Accused Of Using Provocateurs At Summit

Tuesday, 28 August 2007 8:25 A GMT-05
A video, posted on YouTube, shows three young men, their faces masked by bandannas, mingling Monday with protesters in front of a line of police in riot gear. At least one of the masked men is holding a rock in his hand. The three are confronted by protest organizer Dave Coles, president of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada. Coles makes it clear the masked men are not welcome among his group of protesters, whom he describes as mainly grandparents. He urges them to leave and find their own protest location. Coles also demands that they put down their rocks. Other protesters begin to chime in that the three are really police agents. Several try to snatch the bandanas from their faces. Rather than leave, the three actually start edging closer to the police line, where they appear to engage in discussions. They eventually push their way past an officer, whereupon other police shove them to the ground and handcuff them. Late Tuesday, photographs taken by another protester surfaced, showing the trio lying prone on the ground. The photos show the soles of their boots adorned by yellow triangles. A police officer kneeling beside the men has an identical yellow triangle on the sole of his boot.

Point by Point Rebuttal to Globe and Mail Hit Piece

Sunday, 19 August 2007 12:20 P GMT-05
In a fitting and prototypical example of the conversive thinking that runs epidemic among our hysterized society, Ivor Tossell of the Globe and Mail demonstrates in a recent article the very fuzzy thinking he attempts to deride. If it wasn't so sad, and so pitiful a look into the lengths to which a seemingly healthy mind will go to hang onto a belief system, it would be humorous. For Tossell, in his article, accuses others of the very things he himself epitomizes, as will be shown in my comments below.

Canada's biggest national newpaper publishes hit piece

Saturday, 18 August 2007 5:19 P GMT-05
Evidently, debunking isn't the issue. You can't argue aliens with someone who has an "I want to believe" poster on his or her office wall. Nor can you cite the findings of the professional, journalistic and academic consensus to someone who has decided that having credibility means being under the sway of shadowy forces. To that line of thinking, an expert who is rejected by his peers - say, for lunatic conspiracy thinking - gains credibility just for being ostracized.

Tyrants and Traitors: The "Evolution by Stealth" of a North American Union | 911Blogger.com

Thursday, 16 August 2007 10:20 A GMT-05
As a young person in Canada, who wants to live in a free, democratic country, where I have embedded rights and freedoms, I feel that there is nothing more important right now than to find out and spread information regarding the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), which was signed into agreement by the Liberal government in 2005, under then Prime Minister Paul Martin, with President Bush and then-Mexican President Vicente Fox. This agreement was signed shortly after the creation of the Independent Task Force on the Future of North America. This task force is a tri-national grouping of think tanks and interest groups, represented in the United States by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), in Mexico by the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations, and in Canada by the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE) - formerly known as the Business Council on National Issues (BCNI).

Military Analyst: West Needs More Terror To Save Doomed Foreign Policy

Wednesday, 11 July 2007 12:32 A GMT-05
The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy, according to Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. This alarming admission can be found right at the end of a long and academic Toronto Star article about the history of conflict and why the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are doomed. "The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), is the military academy of the Canadian Forces and is a full degree-granting university," according to Wikipedia.

Sam Nunn and guided by trustees including Richard Armitage, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Harold Brown, William Cohen and Henry Kissinger, is in the final stages of preparing a report to the White House and U.S. Congress on the benefits of integrating the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one political, economic and security bloc," reports World Net Daily.

9/11 'Truthers' uncovering disturbing anomalies

Tuesday, 19 June 2007 1:05 A GMT-05
Never mind Islam and Christianity-for a culture clash closer to home, you only have to contrast the marginalized 9/11 conspiracy touted on the Internet to the authorized 9/11 conspiracy advanced by government sources and traditional media. These contending belief systems might as well be from parallel worlds. As a media observer, I have never witnessed a greater cultural divide. It's safe to say that the nonofficial viewpoint is far from fringe, at least in numbers. According to a New York Times/CBS News poll, from October 2006, only 16 per cent of Americans think the government is telling the truth about 9/11 and the intelligence prior to the attacks. A Scripps-Howard poll determined that one in every three Americans believe their government aided or abetted the attacks of 9/11. This signals a profoundly deep cynicism and suspicion among Americans about their own government.

A Blizzard of Canadian Truth

Sunday, 3 June 2007 1:04 P GMT-05
It's all Barrie Zwicker's fault. He was the first media professional on the planet to start poking holes in the Bush administration's "Official Conspiracy Theory", on cable TV. He's Canadian, so, it must be his fault!

Winnipeg Sun: 9/11 an 'inside job'?

Monday, 28 May 2007 6:03 P GMT-05
Gage is scheduled to address a public audience tomorrow at 1 p.m. with a free lecture in University Centre at the University of Manitoba. At 7 p.m. he'll conduct a seminar at the Fort Garry Hotel. On Wednesday at 7 p.m., Gage will give a presentation at the Gas Station Theatre on what he calls the mainstream media's "code of silence" about the 9/11 "inside job." Joe Hawkins, a Winnipeg chiropractor helping arrange the seminars, says no one wants to talk about who's really behind the 9/11 attacks. "Clearly it points to elements within the government," he said. "If it's an inside job, it has to be inside the military-industrial government complex." Hawkins says he's on hiatus from his practice, in part because he's been busy the past few years trying to get information out about 9/11.

Debunkers Deny Existence Of NAU, JFK Conspiracy

Wednesday, 23 May 2007 10:48 A GMT-05
A recent Seattle Times article that scoffs at the very thought of a North American Union being implemented and dismisses it as a conspiracy theory sums up the biggest threat to freedom in America today, blind ignorance in the face of troubling facts.

US to Make History Trying Alleged Child War Criminal

Thursday, 26 April 2007 4:17 A GMT-05
During his capture he was shot three times and is nearly blind in one eye as a result of his injuries. The US military says Mr Khadr threw a grenade that killed a US Green Beret sergeant, Christopher Speer, and wounded another sergeant, Layne Morris. Mr Khadr's Pentagon-appointed lawyer, Marine lieutenant colonel Colby Vokey, said the US would become the first country in modern history to try a war crimes suspect who was a child at the time of the alleged violations if a trial went ahead. Mr Khadr has been charged with murder, attempted murder, providing support to terrorism, conspiracy and spying under rules for military trials adopted last year. The conspiracy charge is based on acts allegedly committed before Mr Khadr was 10, according to his defence team.

Phony War On Terror Demands Casualties -- And Gets Them

Wednesday, 25 April 2007 7:33 P GMT-05
The so-called War on Terror is a fraud, a massive crime against all humanity "justified" by a web of carefully crafted and expensively disseminated lies. And like any web of lies, it cannot sustain itself without ever-increasing fiction. Thus we have phony terror plots leading to spectacularly hyped arrests (which may not even lead to charges, let alone a trial) and entrapment going on all over the place. But that still doesn't generate enough publicity to keep the illusion going under its own power. Early in the phony war, the phony warriors needed suspects so urgently that they were buying them. But they can't keep doing that, so now they're using any other available pretext to try to meet their quotas. And we have clearly reached a point where it doesn't even matter anymore whether somebody is a terrorist or not. If his name -- or some similar name -- is on the government's watch-list, that's good enough to justify ruining his trip -- or his life. And meanwhile -- as if the utter phoniness of the bogus war needed any further emphasis -- an actual terrorist has been set free.

The War On Terror Looks Like A Fraud Because It Is One!

Wednesday, 18 April 2007 8:47 P GMT-05
I've been saying ever since I started blogging that the war on terror is bogus, and that this conclusion can be reached in all manner of ways. John Gleeson mentions 9/11, the oil law in Iraq and the pipeline through Afghanistan. But here's another way to see the same thing: The Pentagon has sent out memos saying their main priority is now to win the war on terror by October of 2008 -- just in time for the next presidential election. Not just the war in Iraq, mind you. The word has gone out: wrap up the entire Global War on Terror. This was a war that was supposed to last for generations. And it's not as if we've shown any signs of "winning". To be blunt about it, we haven't even shown any sign of understanding what "winning" means, let alone what it takes to "win". If this is a war that can be started and stopped at the pleasure of the President, or the Pentagon, just in time for an election -- or even if the people running it see it that way -- then it's clearly a cynical ploy, not worthy of financial sacrifice, let alone the sacrifice of young men and women. Not to speak of the destruction of foreign countries and innocent victims numbering in the millions.

War on Terror looks like a fraud

Monday, 16 April 2007 9:06 P GMT-05
Four years after the invasion, it's becoming pretty clear that Iraq has been "pacified" solely for the purpose of economic aggression. Humanitarian considerations are moot. The awful plight of Iraq's one million Christians, who have no place in the new Iraq, underscores this ugly truth. Afghanistan, meanwhile, has given the U.S. a strategic military beachhead in Central Asia (which "American primacy" advocates called for in the '90s) and it was quietly reported in November that plans are being accelerated for a $3.3-billion natural gas pipeline "to help Afghanistan become an energy bridge in the region." With many Americans (including academics and former top U.S. government officials) now questioning even the physical facts of 9/11 and seriously disputing the "militant Islam" spin, with the media more brain-dead than it's been in our lifetimes, now is not the time for jingoism and blind faith in the likes of Cheney, George W. Bush and Robert Gates.

We’ll Lock Up Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Huddled Masses Yearning to Breathe Free

Friday, 9 March 2007 6:21 P GMT-05
This shameful practice of locking up children is bad enough. What’s worse is that it is being done for profit, by the Corrections Corp. of America. CCA is the largest publicly traded private prison operator in the U.S. CCA has close to 70 facilities scattered across the country, recent earnings of $1.33 billion and a gain in its stock-share price of 85 percent in the past year. Industry analysts gush at the profit potential promised by private prisons. Their commodity: human beings.

Detained by U.S. Customs officials after their flight to Toronto made an unscheduled stop on American soil nearly four weeks ago, Kevin and his Iranian parents, Majid and Masomeh, feel they are being held hostage not only by the physical parameters of Hutto, but by the politics of nationality. “We can't go home because I am Canadian but my parents are not,” Kevin said in a telephone interview with The Globe and Mail — no personal interviews have been granted.

U.S. Borders: Going-Going-Gone!

Monday, 26 February 2007 3:19 P GMT-05
The SPP is very secretive about the 20 "working groups" it has spawned where bureaucrats from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are rewriting proposals for our laws, regulations and trade agreements whose ultimate effect would be to create a North American Union. AIM e-mailed the SPP asking where and when the "working groups" were meeting. Who are their members? What rules, laws, regulations, and agreements were they re-writing? What is their content? Trying to penetrate the layers of bureaucracy to get to the SPP office can put one's patience to the ultimate test. Telephone inquiries get the runaround, and e-mail requests for information are ignored. A Commerce spokeswoman did tell investigative author Jerome Corsi the working groups "do not wish to be distracted by calls from the public." That sounds like code language for an attempt to keep it hush-hush as long as possible because they know there would be an uproar otherwise.

An Iron Curtain is Descending: And Most Americans Don't Know

Persons under 18 cannot cross a U.S. border alone, unless they are with a guardian and have notarized letters from a parent, as well as a passport issued in their own name. Persons between 18 and 21 may be questioned about their intention to engage in behavior (sex or drinking or marijuana use) strongly penalized in the U.S., but either decriminalized or lightly punished in Canada. Up until three years ago, unaccompanied persons over 16 were seldom checked--and longer ago, even younger persons could travel alone or with a non-parental adult. Student groups, including bus tour groups, now report very close scrutiny from the U.S. Exit police. Some bus companies now refuse to take groups of students under 21 across U.S. borders because of hassles they face. Gone are the days when an 18 or over driver could skit across from Burlington to Montreal with a car-full of late-teens hoping to taste the more liberal morals up north.

Canada to apologize to Arar, pay compensation

Saturday, 27 January 2007 4:17 A GMT-05
Arar, who says he was repeatedly tortured during the year he spent in Damascus jails, had initially sued Ottawa for C$400 million, a figure he later cut to C$37 million. Separately CTV said Ottawa would also pay Arar's C$2 million legal bills.

U.S. 'knew damn well' Arar would be tortured: senator

Friday, 19 January 2007 5:53 P GMT-05
Leahy noted that U.S. officials claimed to have had assurances that people sent to Syria would not be tortured. "Assurances," he snorted, "from a country that we also say now that we can't talk to them because we can't take their word for anything."

Cheap, safe drug kills most cancers

Thursday, 18 January 2007 10:13 P GMT-05
Evangelos Michelakis of the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, and his colleagues tested DCA on human cells cultured outside the body and found that it killed lung, breast and brain cancer cells, but not healthy cells. Tumours in rats deliberately infected with human cancer also shrank drastically when they were fed DCA-laced water for several weeks. DCA attacks a unique feature of cancer cells: the fact that they make their energy throughout the main body of the cell, rather than in distinct organelles called mitochondria. This process, called glycolysis, is inefficient and uses up vast amounts of sugar.

Victim owed compensation in CIA case, judge told

Thursday, 11 January 2007 5:51 P GMT-05
Dr. Cameron pioneered "psychic driving," by which he believed he could erase the memories of patients and rebuild their psyches without psychiatric defect. The idea intrigued the CIA, which recruited Dr. Cameron to experiment with mind-control techniques beginning in 1950. The experiments carried out at the Allan Memorial Institute at McGill University were jointly funded by the CIA and the Canadian government. They were part of a larger CIA program called MK-ULTRA, which also saw LSD administered to U.S. prison inmates and patrons of brothels without their knowledge, according to testimony before a 1977 U.S. Senate committee.

Country’s destruction is now under way

Thursday, 21 December 2006 12:19 A GMT-05
Futhermore, as part of the NAU, the federal government plans to build a NAFTA super highway throughout our country. It will be linked to both Canada and Mexico. It is expected to be about a quarter-mile wide. The government will use the power of eminent domain to condemn private property for this highway. Inspection stations will be moved from our borders to hundreds of miles inland because our borders will have been erased. This means that terrorists and contraband can easily enter our former independent United States.

Tortured Canadian Still on U.S. 'Watch List'

Monday, 18 December 2006 5:41 P GMT-05
The head of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police resigned last week after a two-year judicial inquiry found his officers gave U.S. agents false information to cast suspicion on Arar. The Canadian Parliament has apologized to Arar, now 36, and the Canadian government is preparing compensation for the engineer. But the United States has never acknowledged any mistake in the matter, and Wilkins's disclosure Friday indicates Arar might again be detained by the United States if he were to enter the country.

Pinochet is gone, but his methods are still with us

Thursday, 14 December 2006 7:17 P GMT-05
Innocent men such as Mahar Arar, from Canada, and Khaled el-Masri, from Germany, were lucky to be released from this archipelago of secret prisons, but have had no apology or compensation, nor seen any hint of charges being brought against those responsible for their kidnapping and torture. But, like Pinochet's victims, they will not give up the fight for justice. Few tears were shed at news of Pinochet's death, which came, aptly enough, on International Human Rights Day. But the near unanimous condemnation of his US-sponsored crimes loses its moral weight if not accompanied by an equally vociferous denunciation of the similar abuses being perpetrated today.

2 Canadians arrested in 200 lb. pot bust

Saturday, 25 November 2006 6:20 P GMT-05
Two Canadian men were arrested Friday, accused of transporting hundreds of pounds of marijuana through New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The NAFTA Superhighway

Tuesday, 31 October 2006 7:23 P GMT-05
The proposed highway is part of a broader plan advanced by a quasi-government organization called the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America,” or SPP. The SPP was first launched in 2005 by the heads of state of Canada, Mexico, and the United States at a summit in Waco. The SPP was not created by a treaty between the nations involved, nor was Congress involved in any way. Instead, the SPP is an unholy alliance of foreign consortiums and officials from several governments. One principal player is a Spanish construction company, which plans to build the highway and operate it as a toll road. But don’t be fooled: the superhighway proposal is not the result of free market demand, but rather an extension of government-managed trade schemes like NAFTA that benefit politically-connected interests.

Alleged Toronto terror plot included two police agents

Saturday, 21 October 2006 12:34 A GMT-05
According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s FifthEstate and the Globe & Mail, the “Toronto terror cell” arrested in June for allegedly plotting massive acts of terrorism against Canadian targets included not just one, but two Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) moles. This second Muslim man in the pay of Canada’s security forces is said to have been involved in the accused terrorists’ alleged efforts to construct powerful explosives.

Blood & guts: At the front with the poor bloody infantry

Sunday, 1 October 2006 5:49 P GMT-05
"You see the Taliban cutting around on dirt bikes, their weapons in one hand, their kids in the other," said an email reported by The Mail on Sunday. "They think we will not shoot them. There have been some terrible accidents. It is horrible to kill a kid, nothing could prepare you for it."

Justice Dept. Amends Remark on Torture Case

Thursday, 21 September 2006 5:47 P GMT-05
Asked at a news conference on Tuesday about a Canadian commission’s finding that the man, Maher Arar, was wrongly sent to Syria and tortured there, Mr. Gonzales replied, “Well, we were not responsible for his removal to Syria.” He added, “I’m not aware that he was tortured.” The attorney general’s comments caused puzzlement because they followed front-page news articles of the findings of the Canadian commission. It reported that based on inaccurate information from Canada about Mr. Arar’s supposed terrorist ties, American officials ordered him taken to Syria, an action documented in public records.

Canada to Arm Border Guards for First Time

Friday, 1 September 2006 3:25 P GMT-05
Canada announced Thursday it will outfit border guards with guns for the first time, moving to keep officers at their posts in the facing of increasing threats by armed fugitives. Canada's guards along its 4,000-mile border with the United States do not carry guns, but many have demanded firearms.

Spanish firm to build and run new PFI toll road in Texas

Monday, 28 August 2006 11:32 P GMT-05
Because it would provide a connection all the way between Canada and Mexico, the project is also described as the North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA) super highway.

Trading American Fascism for Canada

Friday, 21 July 2006 7:03 P GMT-05
I expect the small power elite controlling U.S. elections to offer only presidential candidates with prepackaged fascist policies masked by patriotic posturing.
